Vikings notch wins over Columbia Falls, Libby

Tamret and Austin Savik scored 14 points each and Bigfork pushed ahead in the third quarter of a 53-47 win over Columbia Falls in Northwest A boys basketball action Saturday.

Austin Savik scored seven points in the third quarter, including his second 3-pointer, as the Vikings built a 41-34 lead. Bigfork (4-3 overall, 1-0 in the Northwest A) then hit enough fourth-quarter free throws — Treker Hickey made four on the way to 11 points — to hold off the Wildcats. 

Easton Brooks hit four 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 19 points for Columbia Falls (4-3, 0-2 in league). Jory Hill added 11 points for the Wildcats, including two triples.

Bigfork 59, Libby 25

Treker Hickey and Austin Savik scored 14 points apiece and Bigfork started strong en route to a 59-25 victory in Northwest A boys basketball Saturday.

Tamret Savik added nine for the Vikings, who outscored Libby 23-5 after one quarter. 

Tristan Andersen led the Loggers with 10 points, Brasen Holzer added seven.
