Lorraine Bowman (Bailey), age 98, passed away peacefully Jan. 6, 2026, in Post Falls, Idaho, just 19 days shy of her 99th birthday. Born on Jan. 25, 1927, in Hay, Wash., Lorraine lived a life marked by resilience, faith, and an unquenchable zest for living.

A vivacious woman of God, Lorraine was known for her quick wit, boundless energy, and deep love for people—especially children. Her adventurous spirit led her to embrace life’s challenges and joys with equal fervor. She loved gardening and spending time outdoors, finding beauty and peace in nature. A passionate traveler, she delighted in exploring new places and trying new experiences throughout her long and remarkable life. She especially loved motorcycle rides and was thrilled to go fast!

Lorraine’s strength was legendary. She beat cancer three times, survived a pulmonary embolism and sepsis and endured a devastating car accident at the age of 85 that left all of her ribs broken. Despite these trials, and the loss of all her siblings, most of her friends, and three husbands, she never stopped loving or living fully. Her indomitable spirit inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sheryl Dolin (Robert) of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Lisa Ackerman (Daryl), Spokane Valley, Wash., her grandsons, Cole and Chase Ackerman (Brooke), and her great-granddaughter, Sadie. Lorraine was predeceased by her three husbands: Wesley Hayes, Richard Weller and Samuel Bowman.

A devoted Christian throughout her life, Lorraine’s faith was the cornerstone of her strength and joy. Her legacy is one of courage, compassion, laughter, and unwavering love. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and serve as a lasting reminder of a life lived with grace and fearless joy.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, from 3-5 p.m., at Real Life Ministries, 1860 North Cecil Road, Post Falls, Idaho.
