Sterling Drake at Mission Valley Live – 7 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Polson High School Auditorium; Drake’s tunes reflect his deep love of the landscapes, people and culture in the American West. Winter Talk with Frank Tyro: Montana to Manitoba – 1-3 p.m. Jan. 17 at the NinePipes Museum; history buffs are invited to this free film, talk, Q&A and refreshments. Tyro has traveled to Churchill, Manitoba, 48 times with the Great Bear Foundation as the co-leader of the Arctic Ecology Field Courses. The former Salish Kootenai College professor will also share his film, "Walking Bear Comes Home," about bear expert Chuck Jonkel.

Family Movie Night at Polson Middle School – 5 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Polson Middle School; grab a blanket and your favorite people and enjoy a holiday classic together. Concessions include popcorn, hot dogs and chili. 

Arts & Crafts in Polson – 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays at Summit Independent Living, 3 Ninth Ave. West, Suite 1 in Polson; join CSKT elder Tammie Miller for an afternoon of crafting, companionship and snacks. Bring a craft project or use available materials to start one. Open to people of all abilities; call 406-215-1604 for more information.

Cheerful Heart Cancer Support Group – 10-11 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the third-floor Leahy Conference Room at St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson; pastor Matthew Connolly leads the group, which welcomes those recently diagnosed or undergoing treatment, cancer survivors, and/or family members. Kiwanis – 12 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the Polson Senior Center, and the following meetings from February to June will be at 12 p.m. on the third Thursday every month; Kiwanis is an international organization dedicated to improving the world one child, one community at a time. Meetings are open to the public.

Open Mic and Jam – 7 p.m. Fridays at the Western Montana Musicians Co-op, Main Street in Ronan; also on tap is a weekly Community Jam at 7 p.m. Saturdays. Learn more at www.mtmusic.org.
