Two former Polson residents were honored recently for post-secondary accomplishments.
Stephanie Lynch of Polson was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. She’s a student at the University of Montana.
Lynch is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.
Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
Samantha Rensvold of Polson has earned a place on the Spokane Falls Community College honor roll for Fall quarter 2025. Students must earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be on the honor roll.
Rensvold, who graduated last spring as valedictorian from Polson High, is also a standout baseball player and has continued to pursue her sport at Spokane Falls Community College.
