Whitefish boys split Northwest A games against Libby, Browning

The Whitefish Bulldogs opened Northwest A play with a road win before dropping a league contest later, finishing the stretch 1-1 in Northwestern A Conference action.
Whitefish rolled past Libby Loggers 74-33 on the road on Thursday, using a decisive second-quarter surge to take control. Reyd Hobart scored 17 points to lead the Bulldogs, with eight coming during a 24-point second quarter that blew the game open.
Hobart knocked down three 3-pointers, while Aiden Rickels and Jake Shors each connected twice from beyond the arc. Whitefish led 38-14 at halftime and continued to extend the margin with a 27-point third quarter.
Jayke Thew added 12 points for the Bulldogs, Rickels finished with 11.
On Friday on the road, Whitefish fell 68-59 to Browning in another Northwest A matchup. Browning placed four players in double figures and pulled away late to secure the win.
Roy Mad Plume paced Browning with 14 points, while Royce Mad Plume added 12.
Rickels and Thew led Whitefish with 12 points apiece. Rickels and Hobart each hit two 3-pointers, while Leo Bungener added nine points off the bench.
