Whitefish swim team victorious in Polson

The Whitefish High School swim team had big wins in Polson on Friday. The girls team dominated Polson, Columbia Falls, Glacier, Bigfork and Flathead, with a whooping 426 points to second-place Polson’s 195. The Whitefish boys earned second with 264 points, just behind Polson with 272.  

The girls 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relay teams both placed first. Liesel Klein swept her individual events, the 200 and 100 free. Sophie McDermott placed first in the 500 free and second in the 100 free. 

On the boys side, the 200-medley relay squad took first, and the 400-freestyle relay team was second. Gavin Sibson took first in the 500 free and third in the 100 breaststroke. Nathan Sibson placed first in the 200 free and sixth in the 50 free. 

The Whitefish swim team will compete at the Kalispell/Missoula invite at the Summit in Kalispell on Saturday.
