Less than 24 hours after most Bonners Ferry City Council members were sworn in for new terms, their counterparts in Moyie Springs followed suit.

On Jan. 7, Moyie Springs Mayor Geoff Hollenbeck and council members Les Love, Patrick Stevens and Jacob Francom were sworn in for another term, drawing applause from those in attendance.

Immediately after, new Moyie Springs fire chief David Bennett was sworn in.

All seats were uncontested in the November election, and officials pledged to uphold the constitutions of the United States and Idaho.

Boundary County School District board members were sworn in on Jan. 12. Board Chair Ron McDonald, Vice Chair Teresa Rae and board member John O’Connor took the oath of office for four-year terms.

Following a vote, McDonald and Rae were reappointed as chair and vice chair. O’Connor was appointed to multiple committees after filling the seat previously held by Mary Fioravanti.
