Gerald “Jerry” Lee Allen, 95, of Kingston, Idaho, passed away Jan. 7, 2026, at Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg, Idaho. Jerry was born March 15, 1930, in Kellogg, Idaho, to the late James and Senia (Snyder) Allen.
Jerry graduated from Kingston High School and then after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948. He served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1952. He then worked at the Bunker Hill Mine until his retirement.
Jerry loved family gatherings at his Kingston home, which he built himself. His family was his life, and he loved everyone unconditionally. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his many friends. Jerry’s legacy will live on through his grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his late wife, Ruth Allen; a son, Jimmy Lee Allen; a daughter, Karen Allen; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Allen of Kingston, Idaho; daughter Wendy (Nelson) Castonguay; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Allen, Stacie James, Chad (Bree) Allen, Chris (Britney) Bowen, and Stephanie Bowen; 13 great-grandchildren, Noah and Lucas James, Maddux and Kendal Allen, Macey VanMater, Kasen Jarmer, Connor, Carson and Carter Allen, Briar, Braden, Hailey, Elsie and Emmy Bowen; and one great-great-grandson. Jerry is also survived by several stepchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Shoshone Funeral Services, 106 S. Main St., Kellogg. A celebration of his life will follow the services with a potluck held at the Pine Creek Tavern.
