Libby hoops teams drop two Northwest A contests

The Libby Loggers ran into a pair of tough Northwest A tests over the weekend, falling at home to Bigfork Vikings and Whitefish Bulldogs.
Visiting Bigfork set the tone early Saturday, racing out to a 23-5 lead after one quarter and turning that into an eventual 59-25 win.
Treker Hickey and Austin Savik scored 14 points apiece to lead the Vikings. Libby was paced by Tristan Andersen with 10 points, and Bransen Holzer chipped in seven for the Loggers, who fell to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in league play.
Earlier in the week, Whitefish used a decisive second-quarter surge to pull away for a 74-33 victory over the Loggers in Northwest A action on Thursday, Jan. 8. Reyd Hobart scored 17 points for the Bulldogs, eight of them during Whitefish’s 24-point second quarter that turned a close game into a runaway.
Libby played Thursday at Columbia Falls and are set to host Polson Saturday.

WHITEFISH — Allie Shors scored 12 of her 21 points in the third quarter, Avery Orme had 14 of her 18 at halftime and Whitefish cruised in this Northwest A battle.
Orme hit both of her team’s 3-pointers and helped the Bulldogs (4-2 overall, 1-0 in the Northwest A) take command early.
Libby (2-4, 0-1 in league) was led by Rylee Delmas with 10 points.

Saturday, Paeton Gunlock's 32 points were all Bigfork needed in a 50-12 win.
Gunlock hit five 3-pointers as the Valkyries led 11-2 after one quarter and 34-7 at halftime.
Rylee Delmas led Libby with six points while Hadleigh Wood, Jayva Boehmler and Rosalin Baney each had two points.
Libby fell to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in Northwest A action.
The Loggers hosted Columbia Falls Thursday and Polson Saturday.
