COEUR d’ALENE — The Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn was recently recognized with the M.K. Guertin Award, the Best Western brand’s highest honor.
"It is very rewarding to see our team receive this recognition,” said Coeur d’Alene Inn President J.J. Jaeger. “From our wonderful owners, Brad and Todd Hagadone, to our terrific team here at the Coeur d'Alene Inn, all of them work very hard to provide a great experience for our visitors and guests."
Named for the company’s founder, the award honors hotels “that have best demonstrated exceptional levels of service, quality, value and commitment to the brand,” a press release received Wednesday read.
Hotels must also meet quality and service standards, as well as other membership requirements, to qualify for the award.
The award was presented at BWH Hotels’ Annual Convention in Seattle in front of over 3,000 attendees. The Coeur d’Alene Inn was one of 107 recipients out of more than 2,300 BWH Hotels properties in the U.S. and Canada to be recognized.
“The M.K. Guertin Award is given to our most engaged hoteliers whose properties are top scorers in quality and overall service, thereby being exceptional representatives of our brand,” said BWH Hotels President and CEO Larry Cuculic. “We recognize the Coeur d’Alene Inn for inspiring travel through unique experiences and for providing outstanding service.”
The M.K. Guertin Award is the latest addition to the Coeur d’Alene Inn’s list of accolades. Last year, the hotel received the Chairman’s Award, which recognizes Best Western-branded hotels that rank in the top 20% of all North American properties for cleanliness and maintenance inspection scores.
Located at 506 W. Appleway Ave., the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn features 122 rooms and is home to the highly rated Mulligan's Bar and Grille, in addition to many other guest amenities.

A sepia-toned photograph of about 30 businessmen hangs in the office of Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber’s President and CEO, Linda Coppess. Though dressed in the fashion of decades past, the men gathered for a purpose that has endured: uplifting area businesses through the Chamber. The photo is a reminder of the Chamber’s 114 years of history, Coppess said in her address to nearly 200 attendees at Tuesday morning’s Breakfast Connect event.
