C-Falls, Libby boys win Tuesday

POLSON — Jett Pitts hit two 3-pointers, one during Columbia Falls’ big fourth quarter, and scored 16 points as the Wildcats beat Polson 64-51 in Northwest A boys basketball Tuesday.

Pitts and Joe West, who scored 10 points off the bench, hit threes as the Wildcats (6-3 overall, 2-2 in the Northwest A) pulled away from a 45-40 lead after three quarters. Easton Brooks added 13 points and Jett Pitts hit six straight free throws down the stretch for Columbia Falls. 

That offset a big came from Malakai Curley, who hit six 3-pointers on the way to 26 points for Polson (4-5, 1-2 in league).

EUREKA — Bransen Holzer scored 18 points, seven coming in the fourth quarter, and Libby edged past Eureka in non-conference play. 

James Woody scored all of his 10 points in the first quarter the Northwest A Loggers (2-8). 

Brady Chapman scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter for the District 7-B Lions (4-5), including a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
