Scott bucket powers Lady Pirates past Wildkats

COLUMBIA FALLS — Rylee Taylor-Jefferson scored 18 points and Koko Scott’s hit a put-back with 14.5 seconds left in overtime as Polson knocked off Columbia Falls 58-56 in Northwest A girls basketall Tuesday night.

Taylor-Jefferson hit four 3-pointers for the Lady Pirates (6-3, 2-1 in the Northwest A), who forced overtime when Olivia Ramirez made a steal, was fouled and hit one free throw with 11 seconds left in regulation. 

That came after Rylee Sweeney’s drive had put the Wildkats (6-4, 3-1 in league) up 52-51. 

In overtime, Peyton  Ross and Hinkley Moss traded buckets in the final minute before Scott’s basket. Columbia Falls got off two 3-pointers from Alexa Friske, and the second rattled out at the buzzer.

RONAN — Paeten Gunlock scored 30 points as the Bigfork Valkyries steadily pulled away from Northwest A rival Ronan. 

Gunlocks had 18 points after halftime; Desi Dell added seven for Bigfork (7-4 overall, 4-1 in the Northwest A). 

Nefertiti Stewart led the Maidens (1-8, 0-4 in league) with eight points.
