Tigers take down Eagles for 14C win

The first win is always the sweetest.
The St. Regis Lady Tigers built a big lead early and held on late to post a 41-38 win over the Two Eagle River Eagles in St. Regis Friday for coach Zack Lott and his Lady Tigers’ first win of the season.
In other action last week, the Tigers fell to Mineral County rival Superior 54-26 in Superior Thursday. Now 1-4 in 14C play and 1-6 overall, the Tigers return to action hosting Hot Springs Tuesday (the Tiger boys host Mission that night, a result of Hot Springs cancelling its boys team’s season), and will entertain Noxon Friday.
Lott was excited for his Lady Tigers after their big win over Two Eagle.
“We built a big lead early, still led 28-15 in the third quarter before Two Eagle rallied and made things interesting late,” he said. “I am super proud of how the girls handled the pressure and got it done in the fourth quarter.”
Emma Gillette led the Tigers with 12 points against the Eagles, Shelby Simkins added nine, Lilly Sansom eight, Shannon Todd six, Daisy Sansom five, Austyn Dalka two and Mae Grosenbaugh one.
Keke Tenas paced Two Egle with a game-high 18 points.
St. Regis scoring from the Superior game was not available.
