Dee Ann Archibald Steinberg, 88, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away Jan. 7, 2026, with her two children by her side.

Born on Dec. 9, 1937, in Garland, Utah, Dee was the child of Leland and Sylvia Archibald. She was the eldest of four children. When she was a young child, her family moved to San Diego, Calif., where she was in the first graduating class from Lincoln High School in 1956. She attended nursing school at Los Angeles General Hospital.

Dee married her sweetheart, Roy H. Steinberg Jr., on Jan. 20, 1957, in Las Vegas, Nev. They were married for 30 years before his passing in December 1987. Having established their life in San Diego, Dee continued to live there with family until her move to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 2014. She was a faithful lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her parents, Leland and Sylvia and her brother, Ron.

She is survived by her sisters, Carol (Jim) and Tami (Tom), her two children, Kirk Roy (Kara) and Julie Dee (Gary), her seven grandchildren, Nikki (Cory), Jacob (Brigitte), Taylor (Christian), Paige, Marisa (Jared), Sara, Ryan, and her six great-grandchildren, Mia, Michael, Marshall, Maximus, Hank and Markus. Her memory will live on through her family, whose lives were made better because of the love she showed them.

Dee will be remembered for her bright smile, her abundant laughs, her love for her family, the joy she received from her grandkids, the quilts she made for her family, the many “I buy, you fly” ice cream runs, her love for playing card games, and enjoying a good meal with family and friends.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m., and the funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2801 North 4th St., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Burial will follow the service at the Riverview Cemetery, 1065 Lincoln Way, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
