A 34-year-old is facing a felony charge in Flathead County District Court after allegedly shooting out a window of a vehicle traveling on U.S. 2 near Hungry Horse earlier this month.

Prosecutors charged Bryan Allen Sparks with criminal endangerment following his Jan. 8 arrest. Sparks, who remains in jail with bail set at $50,000, is expected to appear before Judge Amy Eddy on Thursday for his arraignment on the felony.

Flathead County Sheriff's Office deputies encountered Sparks while investigating the incident, which occurred about 3:06 p.m., according to court documents. The victim told dispatchers that the suspect was in a small white car parked in the ditch near the Hungry Horse Bridge.

He reported seeing the suspect point an object at his vehicle just before the rear window shattered, court documents said.

Deputies came across a vehicle matching the description given by the vehicle while canvassing Martin City. They found Sparks standing near the driver's door, court documents said.

Sparks allegedly said the victim ran him off the road, so he used a slingshot to shoot at his vehicle.

Investigators spotted two slingshots, a plastic bag containing clay slingshot bearings, an airsoft or BB pistol and a BB rifle in Sparks' vehicle, according to court documents.
