Polson High hosts Western Class A Band Festival

The Polson High School Bands, directed by Rich Sawyer, will host the Western Montana Class A Band Festival Jan. 26-27 at Polson High School.
The festival brings in bands from Libby High School directed by Patrick Lewis, Hamilton High School directed by Shawn Thacker, and Stevensville High School directed by Zachary Paulus. The bands combine to create two mass bands and percussion ensembles.
The mass bands will be conducted by Dr. James Smart from the University of Montana and John Combs, former Hellgate High School band director and Missoula County Public Schools fine arts director.
Dr. Stephan Versaevel from Montana State University in Bozeman will direct the percussion ensemble.
The festival culminates in a performance at Polson High School Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27. The public is welcome to attend the free concert.
