Swimmers do well in Kalispell

Columbia Falls swimmer Catherine Opalka took first in two events and Tristan Victor one at the Kalispell Invitational Saturday as the team continues to improve.

Opalka won the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke to lead the team to a second place finish overall. The boys were third. Victor took first in the 50 free. 

“The kids are swimming really well, we are getting fitter and fast with a good amount of mileage. These kids are working their butts off and we are making the push towards the postseason now,” coach Kyle Babcock said. 

The girls 200 medley relay took second as did the boys. Molly Bagley was second in the 200 free; in the boys race Teagan Bates was third, Talen Borgen sixth. 

In the boys 100 fly, Jackson Schubert was fifth, Talon Borgen sixth. 

The team travels to Great Falls this weekend.
