The Sting, coached by Mike Thompson, walked away with 2 wins, 1 tie and 1 loss. Ethan Luna was the leading goal scorer for the team this weekend.     Courtesy photo The Sting SC 2011G Academy girls soccer team went 5-0 to win the PacNW Winter Classic this past weekend. In the first game, a 3-0 victory over Hillsboro Rush, Olivia Hynes opened the scoring with a goal from outside the box. Hailey Hayes followed with two goals, assisted by Olivia Hynes and Presley Moreau. In Game 2, a 8-1 win over Emerald City FC F11, Elle Sousley scored twice — once off a corner kick and again on a free kick. Hailey Hayes, Presley Moreau, and Lucy Doyle each added a goal, while Brightyn Gatten found the net twice. In a 1-0 win over Sparta Tacoma G11, Kate Keaggy scored the lone goal. In the semifinals, the Sting defeated Eastside FC 3–1, the Sting got goals from Hailey Hayes and Olivia Hynes, and Presley Moreau added a goal off a well-placed assist from Lucy Doyle. In the championship, a 4-0 victory over Snohomish United, Presley Moreau opened the scoring on an assist from Hailey Hayes. Brightyn Gatten followed with two goals — one from the penalty spot and another assisted by Olivia Hynes. Hailey Hayes sealed the championship with the final goal. Goalkeeper Constance Ovendale allowed just one goal across five matches.
