Glacier High School announced Erik Brink as the school’s first head baseball coach Thursday, as the Wolfpack prepare for a debut this spring.
Brink brings in over 30 years of baseball coaching experience at the high school level, most recently spending seven years helping with the Kalispell Lakers program. Brink’s prior experience includes coaching at Manteca (Calif.) and Oakdale (Calif.) high schools.
“Baseball is my passion, and I believe it is the best game ever,” Brink said Thursday. “Being hired as the Glacier baseball coach is a blessing, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a supportive and inspiring athletic community.”
Brink played baseball in college and was a part of the 1991 Long Beach State team — headlined by third baseman Jason Giambi — that appeared in the College World Series. After two years with the Dirtbags, he played for Lewis-Clark State before finishing at College of Idaho.
“I am just happy to be around high school again,” Brink said. “It’s been eight or nine years since I have been in high school, I am blessed to be able to do this.”
Brink added that his transition into Glacier has been smooth with coaches and staff welcoming him into the school.
Joining Coach Brink on the baseball coaching staff will be Colin Fuller, Derek Drish and Casey Corbett.
“He (Brink) brings great energy, knowledge, competitiveness, and care for student-athletes, and we are so excited for this inaugural season to see what he and his team accomplish,” Glacier activities director Abby Snipes said in a statement.
Brink said he is excited to provide another opportunity to get Kalispell’s youth onto the diamond as Glacier and Flathead join the American Legion in coordinating programs for high school kids. He hopes to help unify the programs in getting as many kids on the diamond as possible.
He adds that 52 kids are signed up.
The Wolfpack play their first game March 28 when they host Belgrade. The state tournament is set for May 28-30 at 3 Legends Stadium in Butte.
A schedule for the Lakers for the 2026 season has not been released.
