Far North Plumbing builds local roots in Boundary County

Far North Plumbing is a new business in Boundary County, but its owners bring decades of experience to the community.
The company, owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Tyler and Kira Romero, began operating in March 2025. While the business itself is newly established, Tyler Romero has worked in the plumbing trade for more than 25 years.
Romero began plumbing shortly after graduating from high school. Before entering the trade, he worked in the meat department of a grocery store, where a friend’s father, a professional plumber, asked him if he would be interested in learning about the trade. He has worked in plumbing ever since.
The Romeros recently relocated to Boundary County from Ramona, California, a small town outside of San Diego, with their four children. They said the move was motivated by a desire for a slower pace of life and they enjoy being part of a small-town community.
Far North Plumbing currently operates primarily as a one-person business, though Tyler Romero brings in additional help when needed. Kira Romero handles the company’s bookkeeping and administrative work, making the business a family-run operation.
The company provides residential plumbing services and emphasizes dependable, professional workmanship. According to the Romeros, word of mouth referrals have played a major role in helping the business grow during its first year of operation.
In addition to serving customers, the Romeros said community involvement is important to them. They have participated in local service efforts as a way to give back and establish deeper connections within the community.
Looking ahead, the Romeros said their goal is to continue growing Far North Plumbing steadily while maintaining reliable service and strong relationships with customers.
