Chapman’s 24 lead Eureka boys over 7-B rival Plains

EUREKA — Brody Chapman scored 24 points and Rowan Burow added 16 as Eureka downed Plains 70-63 in Western 7-B boys basketball Saturday.

Grayden Casas tallied eight for the Lions (5-5 overall, 3-0 in 7B games), who outscored the Horsemen 23-13 in the third quarter. 

Ben Aldrige led Plains (2-8, 0-4) with 16 points, while Cooper Meredith added 12. Plains closed with a 21-15 fourth quarter advantage but were unable to pull back a 55-42 deficit after three quarters.

Ronan 57, Polson 54

POLSON — Ronan’s Matiya Nenemay scored 18 points, including a big, old-fashioned three-point play with 30 seconds left as the Chiefs’ held off Northwest A neighbor Polson. 

Ronan (8-2 overall, 4-1 in Northwest A play) led 52-47 when two Polson steals in the final minute led to two buckets by Roan Sawyer. 

With the lead down to 52-51, Nenemay — who also hit two 3-pointers — got the hoop and harm to push the lead back to 55-51.  

After Malakai Curley hit a three for Polson with 7.9 seconds left, Kolby Finley knocked down two free throws for Ronan with 6.6 seconds remaining.. The Pirates’ final shot was no good. 

Curley had 13 points; he and Kyson Michel hit two 3-pointers each for Polson (4-6, 1-3).

Bigfork 43, Whitefish 34

WHITEFISH — Austin Savik led a balanced Bigfork offense with 11 points and the Vikings pulled way steadily to beat Whitefish in Northwest A action. 

Treker Hickey added 10 points for the Vikings, who bounced back from Tuesday’s loss to Ronan to improve to 7-5 overall, 4-2 in Northwest A games. 

Will Sisson scored a game-high 14 points for Whitefish (5-5, 1-3 in league).
