Glacier High quarterback Jackson Presley found a new college football home, posting on Instagram Sunday afternoon that he committed to Portland State University.

The three-time all-State AA pick attached the Bible verse James 1:2-3 to a post that simply said: “Committed,” under a picture of him in a Vikings uniform.

In a text to the Daily Inter Lake, Presley said Sunday he talked to Eastern Washington and Rhode Island along with Portland State, but only the Vikings offered a scholarship.

“Super thankful for them and excited for the future in Portland,” he said.

It’s been a meandering recruiting process for Presley, who originally committed to Boise State, then decommitted and gave a verbal to Montana State, only to decommit and eventually sign a letter of intent to play at Sacramento State on Dec. 3.

When Hornets coach Brennan Marion left to become Colorado’s offensive coordinator the next day, Dec. 4, Presley voided his LOI.

The traditional National Signing Day for NCAA football is Feb. 4.

The Vikings are under the leadership of Chris Fisk, who was hired Dec. 12 to replace Bruce Barnum, who was dismissed after a 1-11 campaign.

Fisk came over from Division II Central Washington, where he compiled a 48-22 record over six seasons. He has a reputation as an offensive coach, both at CWU and before that at Southern Oregon, where he was offensive coordinator in 2014 when the Raiders threw for 5,745 yards and won the NAIA championship.

Presley helped Glacier win the 2025 State AA championship, throwing for 2,221 yards and 27 touchdowns, with two interceptions. In three seasons with the Pack  he threw for a school-record 7,944 yards along with 80 touchdowns.
