McDonald leads Ronan over Flathead

RONAN — Jhett McDonald scored 19 points to lead four Ronan players in double figures, and the Chiefs made a strong first quarter hold up for a 65-55 non-conference boys basketball win over Flathead Monday. 


Kolby Finley, who had 16 points, hit two 3-pointers in the first frame and McDonald added another as the Northwest A Chiefs (9-2) ran out to an 18-11 lead. McDonald knocked down four threes, two in the fourth quarter. 


Matiya Nenemay added 16 points and Siouxprixm Qualtier chipped in 12 for Ronan. 


Eli Coopman scored 11 points to lead the Western AA Braves (1-9), who shot 38 percent from the floor — 4 of 22 from deep — while Ronan came in at 44 percent (23 for 52).
