Paul David Gochis Sr., age 90 of Polson, passed on Jan. 22, 2026, at St. Patrick Hospital. Paul was surrounded by family as he passed. Paul will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

He was born June 13, 1935, in Greely, Colo., to John D Gochis and Mabel Gochis.

Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Jim, and his sister, Mary Ann David. His older sister, Betty, is currently 96 years young. Paul has many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles all over the country.

Paul leaves behind his wife, Shirley, after 68 years of wonderful marriage. They toured the country together and raised their family in Colorado before venturing north to Polson, where Paul felt the need to buy a cherry orchard.

Paul and Shirley had so many memories and traveled all over the U.S. to enjoy time together. Wherever you saw Paul, you knew Shirley would be close by. They have many friends all over, too many to mention.

Paul was an electrician by trade. He owned and operated Foothills Electric with Shirley from 1981 to 2005.

Paul D Gochis Jr. is his oldest son and resides in Palm Springs, Calif., with his wife, Heather. His youngest son, Kenny, with his wife, Julie, live in Polson on the family cherry orchard.

Paul has three wonderful grandkids: Nicholas Gochis, Jake Gochis and Jordan Bernhardt, who all live in the great state of Montana. Jake married Kelsey Lane, now Kelsey Gochis, who has been a great addition to the family. Nick married Chelsey Ecklund, now Chelsey Gochis, who is a ray of sunshine. Jordan married Dan Bernhardt, who has been a great addition to the family.

Paul also has four awesome great-grandkids: Natalie Gochis, whose parents are Nick and Chelsey Gochis from Helena; and Aiden, William and Riley, whose parents are Jordan and Dan Bernhardt, who live in Polson.

Services to celebrate the life of Paul will be held at the Polson Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Feb. 2, 2026, with the burial at the Lakeview Cemetery directly after. A reception will follow back the Methodist Church.
