Paul David Gochis Sr., 90, of Polson, passed on Jan. 22, 2026, at St. Patrick Hospital. Paul was surrounded by family as he passed. Paul will be missed greatly by all who knew him. He was born on June 13, 1935, in Greely Colorado to John D Gochis and Mabel Gochis.
He was preceded in death by his brother George, brother Jim and his sister Mary Ann David. His older sister Betty is currently 96 years young. Paul has many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles all over the country.
Paul leaves behind his wife Shirley after 68 years of wonderful marriage. They toured the country together and raised their family in Colorado before venturing north to Polson where Paul felt the need to buy a cherry orchard. Paul and Shirley had so many memories and traveled all over the US to enjoy time together. Wherever you saw Paul, you knew Shirley would be close by. They have many friends all over, too many to mention.
Paul was an electrician by trade. He owned and operated Foothills Electric with Shirley from 1981-2005.
Paul D Gochis Jr. is his oldest son who resides in Palm Springs, California with his wife Heather. His youngest son Kenny with his wife Julie live in Polson on the family cherry orchard.
Paul has three wonderful grandkids – Nicholas Gochis, Jake Gochis and Jordan Bernhardt — who all live in the great state of Montana. Jake married Kelsey Lane, now Kelsey Gochis, who has been a great addition to the family. Nick married Chelsey Ecklund, now Chelsey Gochis, who is a ray of sunshine. Jordan married Dan Bernhardt who has been a great addition to the family.
He also has four awesome great grandkids! Natalie Gochis, whose parents are Nick and Chelsey Gochis from Helena, Aiden, William and Riley, whose parents are Jordan and Dan Bernhardt, who live in Polson.
Services to celebrate the life of Paul will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 2 at the Polson Methodist Church with burial at the Lakeview Cemetery directly after. A reception will follow back the Methodist Church. Messages of condolence may be shared with the family online at lakefuneralhomeandcremation.com.
