Thurston, Hollota win titles at Ted Kato

Matthew Thurston and BillyRay Hollota won individual titles and four other Savage Horsemen earned medals for Plains-Hot Springs in the Ted Kato Invitational wrestling tournament in Thompson Falls Saturday.
Thurston won his first match by pin, his second by major decision and the championship match by fall to claim his first place Kato medal at 126 pounds.
Holotta won his first two matches by pin before outpointing teammate Andrew Waterbury 8-1 in the semifinals at 144, and then winning by a major decision in the championship match.
Gaining spots in their title matches but just missing Kato crowns were Beau Crabb at 150 and Cody West at 157, Brock Ryan won third place at 157 and Waterbury fourth at 144.
Although he did not place, Remy Ryan also competed at 144 for Plains-Hot Srpings in Thompson Falls.
Up next for the Savage Horsemen wrestlers is a mixer match at Arlee Wednesday and a tournament in Mission Saturday.
