In a Jan. 24 Facebook post, the Northside Fire District shared its 2025 year-end update, highlighting total calls for service.

The district received 901 total calls in 2025, a 4% call increase from 2024. According to Selkirk Fire Public Information Officer Brandon Vaccaro, both Selkirk and Northside are seeing similar increases in call volume.

“In 2025, both organizations reformatted their response to medical calls, which led to a decrease in medical responses. Fire and vehicle accidents are up, anecdotally,” Vaccaro said.

Out of the total reported calls, 66 were fire-related, 444 were for rescue and emergency management services and 391 calls were reported as “other.” Agencies may use the “other” category to document incidents that do not fit standard reporting classifications.

Northside Fire District is one of the largest fire districts in Bonner County, serving approximately 130 square miles. According to the district, crews responded to 866 calls for service in 2024, with 20 of those being confirmed structure fires.
