Hickey leads Bigfork boys past Libby

BIGFORK — Treker Hickey swished two 3-pointers and scored a game-high 15 points to lead Bigfork past Libby 52-31 in Class A boys basketball on Thursday evening. 


Austin Savik made three 3-pointers to add 11 points for Bigfork (8-5, 5-2 in Northwest A conf.). Tamret Savik made five shots to score 12 and Justin Gates contributed six.  


Bransen Holzer led Libby (2-10, 0-6 in conf.) with 11 points; Isaac Lamere knocked down two 3-pointers, and Tristan Andersen finished with six.  


Hickey’s five points in the first period helped Bigfork jump out to a 13-4 lead. By halftime, the Vikings led 24-9. 


Holzer rained a 3-pointer and made a pair of free throws in the final period, leading the Loggers to their highest-scoring quarter of the game.

Columbia Falls 53, Ronan 50 


RONAN — Jory Hill scored 15 points to lead Columbia Falls past Ronan 53-50 in Northwest A boys basketball on Thursday evening.  


Jett Pitts swished two 3-pointers to score 13 points for Columbia Falls (8-3, 4-2 in Northwest A conf.), Bjorn Pedersen and Caleb Mee added nine apiece. 


Kolby Finley led all scorers with 16 points. Matiya Nenemay contributed 15 points for Ronan (8-3, 4-2 in conf.) and Tryance Matt added seven. 


Finley scored six early points to give Ronan a 16-10 lead at the end of the first period.  


Mee scored seven points in the second quarter for the Wildcats, who regained the advantage at halftime 33-30.  


Both teams struggled to score in the third period. Jory Hill scored the only points for C-Falls in the quarter, and Ronan was held to just seven points. 


To start the fourth quarter, Columbia Falls trailed 35-37. Hill and Pitts each knocked down a 3-pointer to help the Wildcats outscore Ronan 18-13 in the final period.
