Kay Annette Madsen, 62, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Kay was born Oct. 7, 1963, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Gerald and Luella Madsen. She was raised in Sandpoint and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1981. She then attended the University of Oregon and later graduated with a JD from American University.
She then moved to Maryland where she worked as an acupuncturist. In May of 2024, she returned home to Sandpoint.
Kay was an avid birder, loved the outdoors, and painted.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Campagna, of Sandpoint, Idaho; a sister, Connie (Bill) Malone of Sandpoint, Idaho; and a brother Dr. Doug (Yvonne) Madsen of Bellingham, Wash.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Diane.
She was a beloved mother and community member. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
