PREP WRESTLING: Graves, Calderone, Johnson, Dodd finish in first place in Montana

Eight out of 10 Badger wrestlers finished in the top four in their brackets at the Ted Kato memorial tournament in Thompson Falls, Montana on Jan. 24.
Aubree Graves and Kylie Calderone put on a masterclass, not putting a foot wrong throughout the tournament. They both had a 4-0 record, pinning all eight of their combined opponents as they took first place in their brackets. They each pinned an opponent in under 40 seconds.
As a team, they finished fourth out of 11 teams, despite the two of them being the only female Badger wrestlers.
The Bonners Ferry male wrestlers finished in fifth place out of 12 teams.
Gaige Johnson won his three matches by scores of 6-1, 7-0 and 6-0 to finish in first place comfortably. Taylor Dodd also finished first in his bracket, winning 6-2, 9-2 and 18-5 in the final.
In his bracket, Eivind Falck finished in third place with a 2-1 record. His wins were both against wrestlers from Missoula Sentinel by narrow margins.
Ethan Matthews also finished in third place with a 3-1 record, with two of his wins also coming against Missoula Sentinel.
Rocky Monroe placed fourth as he won a match in just 34 seconds, the second fastest for the Badgers in the tournament.
Aiden Dodd also placed fourth out of 13 wrestlers as he won two matches and lost two, in one of the biggest brackets in the tournament.
Colt Barras picked up a win in just 45 seconds, while Sam Roeser battled and was unlucky not to win.
In youth wrestling news, Dalton Regehr participated in the seventh annual Legacy Duals and Individual in Boise, finishing 9-1 during the tournament.
