The Libby boys basketball team picked up its second win of the season last Tuesday night, edging host Eureka 54–50 in a tightly contested matchup.

Bransen Holzer led the Loggers with 18 points, including seven in the fourth quarter, as Libby (2-8) closed strong down the stretch to secure the road victory. Tristan Andersen also chipped in 13 points, while James Woody scored all 10 of his points in the opening quarter to help Libby build early momentum.

Eureka answered with a balanced effort and stayed within striking distance throughout. Brady Chapman paced the Lions with 20 points, scoring 10 in the fourth quarter and knocking down a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Leif Burow added 10 points, and Logan Cuffe finished with nine.

Libby held a slim lead entering the final period and was able to fend off Eureka’s late push. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Loggers.

Saturday, the Loggers traveled to Browning and lost 84-48. Statistics for the game were not available.

The Loggers, 2-9 overall, played at Bigfork Thursday and are at Ronan Saturday.
