Morbeck Foundation accepting 2026 grant applications

WALLACE — The directors of The Frank A. Morbeck Community Foundation, Inc., announced that the foundation is accepting applications for grants and awards. The deadline is March 1.
The foundation is an Idaho nonprofit corporation created by Frank A. Morbeck to improve the quality of life in and around Wallace by fostering and enhancing charitable giving and philanthropic activities.
Morbeck passed away in 2000 at the age of 78. He left the majority of his estate to the foundation.
"Mr. Morbeck strongly believed that the future of any community was its youth, and his purpose in forming the Foundation was to provide a means through which the community and its youth could enjoy the benefits of his years of investing in the community," a press release said.
Funding offers youth and community categories.
The Wallace board of directors manages the foundation.
Since the foundation began awarding grants and scholarships in 2001, more than $3.7 million has been awarded to the community and students.
"The Foundation is committed to doing all it can to meet the needs of the Wallace community," the release said. "Mr. Morbeck specified that awards are only to be made that benefit the Wallace community and its youth."
