PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Salaiz secures North Idaho Christian win on senior night

POST FALLS — Senior Madison Salaiz made two free throws with seven seconds remaining to lift North Idaho Christian past Kootenai Thunder 33-31 in a Mountain Christian League game at The Courts at Real Life on Thursday.
Salaiz had nine points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals for North Idaho Christian (10-10, 8-3 MCL), which finished second in the league.
Junior Belle Jordan had 14 points and 11 rebounds and senior Sydney Ellis 10 rebounds, six steals and three blocked shots for North Idaho Christian, which faces Spokane Classical Christian School next Thursday in an opening round game in the Mountain Christian League Tournament at The Oaks in Spokane Valley.
Mazie Miles scored nine points for Kootenai Thunder.

PLUMMER — The Wildcats, ranked fourth in the state 2A classification by MaxPreps.com, held the Knights scoreless in the first quarter of a nonleague game at Ron Miller Court.
Senior Kyleigh Wolfe scored 19 points for Lakeside (9-11), which is currently ranked 10th.
Following state-qualifying tournaments, MaxPreps.com is used to seed the state tournament, starting Feb. 19 at Columbia High in Nampa.
Lakeside hosts Clark Fork to conclude the regular season on Saturday.

Freshman Vanessa Rogier scored eight of her 15 points in the second half for Clark Fork (5-10), which travels to Lakeside on Saturday.
