BONNERS FERRY — The Boundary County Fair is bringing back a cherished tradition by once again selecting a grand marshal to be honored during the 2026 Boundary County Fair.
Community members are invited to nominate an individual whose dedication, volunteerism and lasting contributions have made a meaningful impact on both the Boundary County Fair and the community. The selected individual will be recognized during the fair and will have the honor of participating in the Boundary County Fair Parade.
The grand marshal tradition celebrates individuals who embody the spirit of the fair through years of service, leadership and commitment. Whether they have volunteered behind the scenes, supported local youth, promoted agriculture or helped preserve the fair's rich history, fair organizers said they want to hear their story.
"We're excited to bring back this tradition and recognize someone who has helped make the Boundary County Fair a special place for generations," fair manager Jaycee Atkins said. "Our fair has always been built on the dedication of volunteers, exhibitors, supporters and community members. This is a wonderful opportunity to honor someone whose commitment has left a lasting legacy."
Community members are encouraged to submit nominations through the online form available on the Boundary County Fair website. Nominations should highlight the nominee's service, accomplishments and impact on the fair and the community.
The 2026 Boundary County Fair will be held Aug. 11-15. This year's theme is "There's Magic in the Fair."
