Fans of Fleetwood Mac will have a chance to enjoy an evening of classic rock when Paper Flowers: Remembering Fleetwood Mac performs at the Boundary County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 18.
The tribute band will take the stage at 7 p.m. as part of a community celebration organized by the Bonners Ferry High School Class of 1976 in honor of its 50th reunion and the nation's upcoming 250th anniversary.
Known for recreating the sound and spirit of one of rock music's most iconic bands, Paper Flowers performs many of Fleetwood Mac's best-loved songs, giving audiences an opportunity to experience favorites spanning decades of music history.
According to organizers, the concert grew out of discussions among members of the Class of 1976, who wanted to create a meaningful way to celebrate their reunion while leaving a lasting gift for the community. The result became the Class of 1976 Legacy Project, which partnered with the Boundary County Fair Board to bring the concert to Bonners Ferry.
"We wanted to do something special for our 50th reunion and the nation's 250th anniversary," legacy team member Dennis Dinning said in an earlier interview.
The event is intended to be more than just a concert. Organizers hope it will serve as a community gathering that celebrates music, history and the volunteer spirit that has helped shape Boundary County.
The concert and related fairgrounds improvements have been made possible through extensive community support. Local businesses, organizations, volunteers and residents have contributed materials, labor and financial assistance to help bring the project to life, reflecting the community spirit behind the Class of 1976 Legacy Project.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. at the Boundary County Fairgrounds, 6567 Recreation Park Road. Recorded music will play before the concert begins. Food and drink vendors will be present, and the fairgrounds will have beer and wine available for purchase. A designated dance area will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the evening performance.
Advance tickets are $30, while tickets purchased at the gate will be $40. Children ages 5-12 are $10, and children 4 and younger will be admitted free.
Tickets are available through the Boundary County Fairgrounds website boundarycountyfairgrounds.com and the Paper Flowers website paperflowersmusic.com.
