Spool Effect will help kick off Independence Day festivities with a performance at Kootenai River Brewing Company on Saturday, July 4.

The North Idaho trio will take the stage in the brewery's hop yard from 6 to 9 p.m. for a special pre-fireworks show featuring its blend of funk, rock and reggae music. The all-ages event will also feature food and drink specials throughout the evening.

Spool Effect features Kevin Dye on vocals and guitar, Luke Zohn on bass and Tyler Pearson on drums and percussion. Formed in North Idaho, the band draws from a wide range of musical influences, including reggae, rock, funk, jazz and blues, creating a sound that emphasizes rhythm, movement and audience participation.

The free concert offers community members an opportunity to enjoy live music, food and refreshments before heading out to celebrate the Fourth of July and see the evening fireworks.

Kootenai River Brewing Company is located at 6424 Riverside St. in Bonners Ferry.
