Dessie Marie (Harrison) Winchester, 43, was born on March 20, 1983, in Lodi, California. She was born to Lonnie and Julie Harrison, joining older brother Lonnie. Dessie grew up in Thornton, CA and graduated from Galt High School in 2001. Dessie’s best friend and cousin Jeni introduced Dessie to her future husband, Jim Winchester. They married on June 8, 2003. and had many adventures together, enjoying camping, snowboarding, and spending time with family and friends. Jim’s work took him to Alaska and they lived there for five years before returning to California when they started their family. Julie and Jimmy were born there, then Evie and Jaxon joined the family after the Winchesters moved to Montana in 2013. They have called Montana home ever since.  Dessie enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom where she was able to care for her family.  She loved attending the kid’s sporting events, going on field trips, bible study, cooking, gardening, camping and traveling.  Dessie was a “people” person and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Through all Dessie has been through, she remained strong in her faith in the Lord. In one of her last prayer journal entries, she wrote “God is good and he is great in his faithfulness.” She always remained hopeful, and she fought hard. She was a godly woman who we know is with Jesus. She will be missed by everyone who knew her, but especially by her husband and children.

A celebration memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Easthaven Baptist Church in Kalispell.

Donations in Dessie’s honor may be made to Hope Pregnancy Ministries in Kalispell, MT, a pro-life organization that Dessie strongly supported.
