Little League baseball district tournaments begin this weekend
Croffoot Park in Hayden and the Canfield Sports Complex in Coeur d’Alene will be the sites for first two weekends of play in the Idaho Little League District 1 baseball tournaments in the Little League (12U), 11U and 10U divisions.
Games begin tonight in the 12U and 10U divisions, and on Sunday in the 11U division.
The final weekend of play (July 18-19) in all three divisions, when the championships will be decided, is scheduled for Airport Park in Lewiston.
District 1 is hosting the best-of-3 state playoffs vs. District 2 champions July 24-26 at Croffoot Park in Hayden.
In the Little League (12U) division, the state champion advances to the Northwest Regional in San Bernardino, Calif.
Kootenai County horseshoe pitchers group gears up for summer competitions
The Kootenai County Horseshoe Pitching Association is preparing for its summer tournament schedule.
The group also meets each Thursday for league play at Winton Park, 1507 N. Melrose St., Coeur d’Alene from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

This spring, Kootenai County horseshoe pitchers attended tournaments in Moscow, Spokane and Coeur d’Alene.
