The Ribeye Raffle is back, giving community members a chance to win premium local beef while helping support food banks in the Flathead Valley and Libby.

Each year during the Northwest Montana Fair, Flathead Electric Cooperative purchases livestock at the 4-H and FFA Market Sale. Most of the meat is donated directly to local food banks, while the premium ribeye steaks are raffled off to raise additional funds for those same organizations.

This year, two lucky winners will each take home approximately 60 one-inch-thick ribeye steaks, valued at more than $1,100 per winner.

The Ribeye Raffle has become a meaningful tradition that supports local youth, local agriculture, and local families. Since 2016, the program has contributed $111,606 in cash and approximately 10,000 pounds of meat to local food banks.

“Every ticket purchased helps stretch this program even further,” said Katie Pfennigs, Community Relations Manager at the Co-op. “It’s a fun way for members to support local 4-H and FFA students, help stock food bank freezers, and maybe even take home a freezer full of ribeye steaks.”

Tickets are now available at $1 each, or six for $5. Tickets may be purchased at Flathead Electric Cooperative offices in Evergreen and Libby, online at flatheadelectric.com/ribeyeraffle, or from the Co-op during the 4-H and FFA Market Sale at the fair. Winners will be notified by close of business the Tuesday following the end of the fair.

The 2026 Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo runs August 12–16 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in Kalispell. More information about the fair is available at nwmtfair.com.
