Clean Sweep: Arrowsmith's single lifts AA Lakers

Miles Arrowsmith singled to right in the top of the 10th inning to drive in the winning run as the Kalispell AA Lakers beat Medicine Hat 6-5 Saturday to complete a three-game sweep of the Moose Monarchs at Griffin Field.


After a flyout to start the extra frame, Eli Coopman took second on an error setting up Arrowsmith. He hit a 2-2 pitch to right field bringing Coopman in for the victory. 


Kalispell (11-9) also took a walk-off win Friday in the first game of the series. 


Hunter Fann gave the Lakers the lead in the first inning with an RBI single to right, scoring Teagan Dixon. 


Liam Rech doubled the advantage to 2-0 with a double in the second inning.  


The Moose Monarchs (6-17-1) tied the game in the third with a single from Asha Frey. 


Fann added two more runs for the Lakers on a single in the fourth inning to make it 4-2. He then made it 5-2 in the fifth with a solo shot to right field. 


Medicine Hat scored three in the sixth to tie the game at five.  


That scoreline stayed until Arrowsmith’s heroics. 


On the mound, Kalispell got five innings from Kyler Croft, allowing five runs on six hits and fanning seven batters. Tait Orme tossed 2 2-3 innings in relief, giving up one hit. Arrowsmith also went 2 1-3 innings in relief, allowing one hit. 


Nixon Kunkel went 4 1-3 for Medicine Hat, scattering eight hits and allowing five runs. 


Kalispell now heads to Lethbridge for a three-game set against the Elks starting with a doubleheader Wednesday at 5 p.m.
