Glenn James Fillion, 76, of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born in Appleton, Wis., Glenn had the opportunity to live in many cities spanning across the United States as his dad was a 20-year veteran of the Navy. One of those cities was Sandpoint, Idaho, when he was a high school senior. Glenn was welcomed with open arms at Sandpoint Senior High School, where he graduated in 1968.
His adventurous spirit carried him across many more states and around the world before he concluded a 30-year career with Shell Oil Co. in China. Though he often shared stories of his travels, the mountains, rivers, and lakes of Sandpoint, Idaho, remained home in his heart. More than any place he called home, it was his family who defined the life he treasured most.
Glenn is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Annette “Eddings” Fillion; his children, Christopher Fillion and Leah Shah; daughter-in-law Brandee Spratley and son-in-law Shail Shah; and his cherished grandchildren, Sai and Maya, who lovingly knew him as “Papadoodle,” a name he wore with immense pride and affection.
He is also survived by his sisters, Donna (Dan) Deshon, Pearl (Doug) Robertson, Marie (Michael) Dunn and Tina Gillette along with many extended family members, and dear friends whose lives he touched throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob, his parents, Ronald and Evelyn Fillion.
A funeral service celebrating Glenn’s life will be held at noon on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at St. Thomas Apostle Catholic Church, 919 E. Indiana Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814. A gathering will be held immediately following the service at a nearby location.
A celebration of life honoring Glenn will be held Saturday, July 11, at 1 p.m. Friends are invited to join his family in the sharing of stories and memories of a life well lived. Please RSVP to Donna Deshon at 208-255-9453 for address information.
Your presence and support mean the most. For those who wish to honor Glenn's memory, memorial donations may be made to the National Parks Foundation.
