Twins split pair at Stars and Strikes tourney

BOZEMAN — Derek Juntenen tripled and drove in two runs as the Glacier Twins opened Saturday with a 17-8 win over the Bozeman B Bucks at the Stars and Strikes Legion baseball tournament.
In their second game, the Twins fell 13-5 to the Gallatin Valley Posse.
Mason Muller also plated four runs in the victory for Glacier (5-17), who rebounded from two opening losses in the tournament.
Juntenen’s triple scored two and put the Twins ahead 10-4 in the third inning.
Glacier scored multiple runs in five of the six innings played.
Bolton Williams went five innings on the mound, allowing seven hits and striking out a pair. Tayvion Robinson tossed a no-hit inning in relief.
In game two on the day, Glacier was held to just one hit in the loss. Muller singled in the fourth inning.
Glacier jumped on four walks and four errors to score five, but Gallatin Valley’s 11 hits proved too much.
Wyatt Hensley had three hits and three RBIs to power the Posse.
