Author to explore the art of writing science fiction

Curious about science fiction, storytelling, or the creative process behind writing books that capture readers' imaginations? 

Join the Arts & Culture Experience at The Den in downtown Coeur d'Alene at 5 p.m. Wednesday for an evening with a local author G. S. Jennsen.

During this interactive conversation, attendees will get an inside look at the craft of writing science fiction, from the author's unexpected journey into the genre to the unique challenges of bringing imaginative worlds to life. The discussion will explore how science fiction translates from the written page to film and television, why some stories adapt more successfully than others, and what makes the genre such a powerful vehicle for exploring humanity, technology, and the future.

 The author will share personal favorites — as well as a few well-known science fiction books and movies that didn't resonate — offering thoughtful insights into what makes great speculative storytelling.

The evening will conclude with a short reading from one of Jennsen’s published works.

The Arts & Culture Experience brings together community members to explore creativity, ideas, and meaningful conversation through engaging presentations from local artists, writers, makers, and cultural leaders.
