LEGION BASEBALL: Lums fall in in tourney finale

COEUR d’ALENE — The Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen scored the game’s first four runs, but the Expos Williamson 18U answered with 16 runs in the third inning and beat the Lums 17-4 in a consolation game to conclude both teams’ stay in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene Wood Bat Classic on Sunday at Thorco Field. 

Jack Pierce homered to lead off the bottom of the first inning for Coeur d’Alene (10-13). Malcolm MacNiven had two of the Lums’ four hits, including an RBI single in the first. He later scored on a passed ball.

Coeur d’Alene returns to action Thursday at home vs. The Missoula Mavericks.
