3rd Glacier Park College Soccer Showcase is Aug. 6-8

Gonzaga is back, Mount Royal out of Calgary, Alberta, makes and appearance and the Third Annual Glacier Park College Soccer Showcase is set for Aug. 6-8 at Flip Darling Memorial Field in Columbia Falls.
Event organizer O’Brien Byrd notes festivities begin with a youth clinic hosted by the University of Montana Grizzlies’ playes and coaches on Aug. 6. The came runs from 4-5:30 p.m. and is open to boys and girls agae 5-18. Participants will train in age-specific groups and enjoy an exclusive autograph session immediately following the camp.
On Aug. 7 the Montana squad will scrimmage with the Mount Royal Cougars at 8 p.m.
The tournament concludes Saturday, Aug. 8, with a 7 p.m. battle between Mount Royal and the Gonzaga University Bulldogs.
“Thanks to the support of Discover Kalispell, elite collegiate soccer returns to the Flathead Valley for a third year,” Byrd said in a press release. “Youth here rarely get the opportunity to see elite play firsthand — and even more rarely get to imagine themselves on that stage someday.”
Matches will follow a standard format of two 45-minute halves. General admission doors open one hour prior to the evening matches, while VIP ticket holders gain access 90 minutes early.
The tournament also offers local youth the chance to register for on-field roles, such as match participants or walk-out representatives. Volunteer can secure free admission for assisting with the event.
