Temporary closure of Lee Creek Road on Lolo Forest
Valley Press-Mineral Independent | UPDATED 3 days, 5 hours AGO
The Lolo National Forest will temporarily close a portion of Lee Creek Road beginning at milepost 0.24, at the end of the pavement past the Lee Creek Campground, to milepost 3.61 at the gate at the end of NFSR #699.
The closure will be in effect through October 1, 2026.
The campground and day-use areas will remain open during construction; however, visitors should be mindful of ongoing work and increased vehicle traffic in the area.
This project is being completed in partnership with the Clark Fork Coalition and focuses on resurfacing sections of the road and road improvements. The work is designed to reduce sediment delivery to Lee Creek, improve overall road drainage and function, and enhance watershed health in the upper Lolo Creek area.
The project builds upon prior watershed improvement activities and is part of a long-term effort to improve water quality and watershed resilience across the Lolo Creek drainage.
The Forest Service asks the public to respect the closure for their safety and the safety of work crews, and to help ensure the project can be completed efficiently.
