Law roundup: Overcome by fumes, a worker raises a stink

Feeling lightheaded from the fumes, an employee called the Kalispell Police Department to report their manager for mixing epoxy incorrectly. They said the fumes had spread throughout the building and asked arriving officers to do something about the ventilation. Officers didn't smell anything while walking around the building. They let the employee know that incorrectly mixing epoxy is not a crime.  

Although unsure of what earned her another motorist's ire, a woman called the police after he began following her and making a rude gesture with his finger. She said he also formed a gun with his hand and mimed shooting her. Dispatchers instructed her to drive to the Police Department. After arriving, she asked officers to track the other motorist down and address his behavior.  

Believing that a man was abusing drugs in an alleyway, a business owner asked that officers speak to him and move him along.  

Seeing a group of four twentysomethings riding motorcycles down a hill, none of them wearing helmets and one standing on the handlebars, a passerby called the police to express their concern. Officers unsuccessfully tried to locate the quartet.  

With the Fourth of July long over, a caller asked the police to deal with an impromptu pyrotechnic display down the street.  

Thieves stole a Smith and Wesson from a man's truck, possibly while it was parked at a big box store or maybe a job site in Whitefish.
