James Ray Smith passed away on June 27, 2026, with his long struggle of COPD.
He is preceded in death by his mother Inez, father Dave, brother Brian, and daughter Julie.
James proudly served his country for 23 years in the Marine Corps before retiring honorably. After retirement, “Pack River Jim” joined the Hermanos motorcycle club where he was deeply loyal to his brothers and would have died for any of them. He cherished his family above all.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons, Kajun and Tanner; daughters, Shanda, Jennifer, and Crystal; granddaughter, Astrid; his sister, Mary Mendora; brother Mark Huppell; and brother Jerry, and Tony and many friends.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
