Linda Joyce (Kinney) Perkins, 70 of Libby, Montana passed away peacefully in her home on Feb. 6, 2026 after losing her battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Tachikawa Japan on a U.S. Air Force base. She grew up in the South and loved spending her time anywhere the sun was. She loved to tell stories of all the weird things she had to eat as a child and her fear of anything smaller than a cat, which to her everything was considered a rodent.

Linda ended up finding the love of her life in the guy next door, literally her neighbor. After being raised in an Air Force family she swore she would never be with someone from the military. Yet she couldn’t help but fall in love with an airman. She married Brad Perkins June 17, 1978, in a park by the water in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. They spent their Florida days on the beach fishing and camping

After spending time down south Linda was ready for a change. Her and Brad took off on an adventure of a lifetime. They spent some time in California before landing in Washington where they decided to settle down and start a family. They had two daughters, Bailey and Ashley.

As a family they spent summer days either on their boat or out camping with friends. After she finally retired, her and Brad decided on another adventure and moved to Montana. Linda spent most of her time playing in her garden or messing with her plants.

It never failed, you could always find Linda somewhere in the sun or with her toes in the water. Linda loved the outdoors and sitting by a good fire and kicking her feet up.

Linda’s happy place was anywhere her grandkids were. She was blessed with four grandchildren (Charles, Brooklyn, Abigail and Bristol) and three step-grandchildren (MaryJane, Liam and Hayden).

Christmas time was her favorite time of the year, and she made sure her family was always spoiled and cherished. Linda took pride in raising her girls and maintaining a career. She was a very strong-willed woman who instilled that in her daughters.

Linda was a two-time breast cancer survivor and one hell of a fighter. Linda has left an unfillable void with everyone who knew her and her smile that could light up a room. She will be deeply missed!

Linda is proceeded in death by her parents Bill and Doris Kinney and her nephews Chris Kinney and Garrick Jacobson.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Brad, two daughters Bailey (Fred) and Ashley (Dewey), two sisters Sandra (David) and Patricia, her seven grandkids and six nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held for her at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at the VFW Post #1548 in Libby.
