Raptors rally past Range Riders Friday, 6-4

The Ogden Raptors got to Glacier’s bullpen again, scoring four times in the eighth inning to pull out a 6-5 Pioneer League win Friday at Glacier Bank Park.
Cole Jordan’s three-run home run capped the uprising and put the Raptors (27-19), who scored twice in the ninth inning of a Knockout Round win on Tuesday, up 6-4.
Andrew Collins’ hit a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the eighth to bring Glacier (29-17) to 6-5 but was stranded. The Range Riders went down in order in the ninth against Ogden’s Landon Riley, who got his first save.
Colson Lawrence also homered for the Raptors, a two-run shot that put his team up 2-0 in the first. He also keyed the eighth-inning rally with an RBI double.
Glacier chipped away at the early deficit with an RBI groundout and a sacrifice fly from Kyle Ashworth, sandwiched around a Tommy Rover RBI single in the sixth. Ashworth’s sac fly scored Alex Fernandes in the seventh, and J.D. McLaughlin followed with an RBI single to put the Range Riders up 4-2.
To that point pitchers Zach Longshore (six innings, five hits and two walks allowed, six strikeouts) and Lance Wade (a scoreless seventh) had kept the Raptors in check, but they got to Wade in the eighth.
Jose Ballista also went six innings for Ogden, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks. He fanned three.
